Photography Backdrop Design

It’s a rainy day here. Wet, cold damp you know the kind of day that one wants to just light a fire in the fireplace and cozy up with a blanket. It’s been an unusually rainy season and spring 2023 is almost here. How I love spring and all its colors of flowers in bloom. We all fell pretty hard here and now the days are slower and summer brings the longer in. I read the newspaper about what has happened to our fine city. The ups and downs of past and present playing at the same time. The past is all about us in the city, however, we look around and building after building is being torn down and new ones being built.

I look at my planner for things I planned to do today. Weekly blog posts in on the list. What happen to the days were I was so busy I didn’t have time to think as I was awakened by a 4 am consulting phone call? Do people have no sense of etiquette? Do I have to answer the call I ask myself, what can be that important as I lay in bed not ready to get out? I lay there for a few minutes not answering the phone call.

After about 5 minutes I got out of bed, got dressed, and sure enough just after I washed my face, and brushed my teeth, the phone rang again. The person yelling on the other end. Wow, I thought to myself I haven’t even had an up of coffee yet. “Things happen early in the morning here”; I was told. I understand I replied and my thoughts turn to thoughts of summers at the beach lazy days of spring and summer. I almost replied something stupid, however, bad thoughts are better kept to self. Speak truth. My reply: You can catch me live on Wednesday Mornings as if to say it’s too early to talk. That kept the conversation short and sweet and everyone on task.

One of my photography goals is to see if I can create a backdrop. I have the materials I need so this is what’s happening today. After my coffee, I got out the material I need to create a prototype for a photography backdrop. Then I tested the backdrop with color lighting. I discovered how it looked with white, yellow, and blue. Tomorrow, I’ll test it with other colors to see how light bounces off the backdrop and into the photograph. This will continue for a while until I figure out exactly what I want it to look like. Then the reality, who will print and sell my backdrops?
